The September regular meeting of Cibolo Lodge 147 was held on September 1st at Harmon’s Bar-B-Que in Cibolo. Members and guests enjoyed bar-b-que and homemade sides just prior to the meeting.
Treasurer Joy Brown went over the final results of the Matching Funds Project. This year’s beneficiary is Universal City’s Homes for the Homeless. Homes for the Homeless is currently building a dog park in Universal City and these proceeds will go toward this project. The presentation will take place at our Christmas Party on Sunday December 4th.
Christmas Party tickets will be available at the October meeting, so if you’d like to attend this event, contact anyone from Cibolo Lodge for details. The October regular meeting with again feature the Halloween Costume Contest for adult and junior members. This event is always a lodge favorite! If you’d like to participate, please plan to attend our meeting, in costume, on October 6th at Harmon’s in Cibolo. Wal-Mart gift cards are awarded in each category!
Raffle tickets, to benefit the Scholarship Fund, will be available at the October meeting and from any lodge member after that. There are many nice prizes thanks to many generous donors. Tickets will be $1 each or 6 for $5. The drawing will be held at our Christmas Party. This is the only fundraiser the lodge has for our Scholarship Fund, so please plan to support this worthwhile cause.
The October meeting will be the final time to gather personal care items for a local nursing home. These items will be delivered as party of the Lodge’s “Make a Difference Day” project.
Zane Gray gave a short presentation about his experience at camp this summer. Zane enjoyed his time at camp and was a bit sad since this is his final year as a camper! Zane turns 14 on September 6th. Congratulations to Zane who was named Outstanding Camper, an award presented by the camp counselors each session.
