The March regular meeting of Cibolo Lodge was held on March 7th at Harmon’s Bar-b-que in Cibolo. Members enjoyed a bar-b-que chicken dinner prior to the meeting.
Members welcomed new junior member, Tagen Vale and were thrilled to have agent, Tina Ynfante give an update of her health and Hermann Sons news.
Members discussed the Matching Funds project, due by the end of March. A little more research is required before members are ready to announce their recipient and fundraising ideas. Watch this newsletter for further updates as plans are finalized.
Congratulations to Patrick Real who was presented his 60-year membership pin. It was an extremely lucky night for Brother Patrick, whose Cherry Cobbler was chosen as the favorite dessert. He quickly gave his wife all the credit and promised she would get the $1 prize money. It was a pleasure to have Brother Patrick present along with Sister Delia Geary, who joined us for the first time.
Cheer committee, Dorothy Schneider, reported that she was doing well after her recent health issues and thanked those who had sent cards and emails. She also reported contact with Patrick Real and Irvin Schneider. Sister Schneider also presented a thank you card from the family of Viola Niemietz for the Memorial donation.
Congratulations to Jerry and Sherry Rakowitz, who were not present, but are celebrating a wedding anniversary this month and to Bret Gray, Dorothy Schneider and Emilie Shepherd who are celebrating birthdays in March. Joy Brown was the prizewinner for “Favorite Easter Bonnet”. Many thanks to those who participated.
Attendance prizewinners were John Fey, Joy Brown and Emilie Shepherd. The Special Drawing Winner was Skyler Schultz who was not present to claim her prize. The pot will be $43 at the April regular meeting.
On a personal note, I would like to thank all those who called, visited, sent cards and memorials for the recent loss of my Father, Algie Ennis. The outpouring of support is certainly a tribute to the motto “Friendship, Love and Loyalty”.
