The final regular meeting for 2013 was held on Thursday, November 7th at Harmon’s Bar-B-Que in Cibolo. Beginning on January 9, 2014, Cibolo Lodge will be meeting at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1129 Pat Booker Rd., Universal City, Texas. Dinner is served at 7 and the business meeting follows. Please plan to attend our meetings in the New Year!
We are proud to announce new junior members; Brenley Rose Bierstedt and Sophie Marie Zimmerman. Brenley is the daughter of Dawn and Johnathan Bierstedt, making them a 100% family!
Members were reminded that the Installation of Officers would be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at The American Legion Post 245 Hall, 618 E. Kingsbury St., Seguin, Texas. The installation will be hosted by Stern Lodge #143, beginning at 3 p.m.
The Lodge Christmas Party will be held at Schertz Community Center, Building 3, Schertz, Texas, beginning at 4 p.m. Dinner, drinks, awards and socializing are on the agenda! Tickets can be purchased from any lodge member. There will be a photo opportunity, so wear your favorite Christmas sweater! Members are asked to bring a dessert to share. All those attending are asked to bring non-perishable goods for donation to Randolph Area Christian Assistance Program (RACAP) for their holiday gift baskets.
Raffle tickets are available! They are 6 for $5 and all proceeds go to benefit the Scholarship Fund. There are over $50 amazing prizes. Don’t miss your chance to win one of them! Tickets can be purchased from any lodge member.
Cheer Committee, Dorothy Schneider, reported that note cards were sent to Rodney Seiler, celebrating his 50th years as a Hermann Sons member and to Shirley Zimmerman who is celebrating her 60 year membership. A birthday card was sent to Florence Northlich, celebrating his 88th birthday.
Congratulations to Sherry Rakowitz and Tina Ynfante who will serve as the new President and Vice-President, respectively. Lodge members would like to extend a very special thank-you to long-time President, John Gray who has done an outstanding job representing Cibolo Lodge for the past twelve years. John will continue to be an active member of Cibolo Lodge, but is passing his gavel to Sherry’s capable hands!
Attendance prize winners were Tina Ynfante, John Gray and Cheyanne Kuhlman. Those celebrating birthdays in November are Kyle Kuhlman, Alvin Schulz and Hunter Stephens.
