Cibolo Lodge held its Christmas Party on December 8th. There were almost 100 attendees to the annual event. Lodge members welcomed Kim Krueger, VP-Fraternal and her husband Dustin along with members of Mended Little Hearts.
A sixty year member pin was presented to Patrick Real, by Sister Krueger and Cibolo Lodge President, John Gray. Brother Real attended this celebration with his wife, Mary.
Mended Little Hearts were the recipient of this year’s Matching Funds campaign. This organization assists families whose children are born this heart defects. One of our own lodge families has been assisted by this outstanding organization and we are pleased to be able to assist them in their efforts. Representatives accepted checks totaling $1,155.00.
Junior members were awarded attendance prizes and were greeted by a visit from Santa Claus. Each junior member was presented a gift chosen especially for them and had the opportunity to make sure Santa had their Wish List. A very special thank you goes to Jay Baird for arranging for the visit from Santa.
Throughout the party, attendees were treated to a slide show of past events and Christmas carols playing throughout the building. Anthony and AJ Schneider always do an outstanding job of our audio/visual needs throughout the year and the presentation at the Christmas Party was a special treat, enjoyed by all.
The Annual Raffle raised almost $1200 for the scholarship fund. Thank you to those who donated and to those who bought tickets. All the proceeds from go to benefit the Raffle Scholarship.
Many thanks go to Mary Ann Gray, Dorothy Schneider, Cliff Shepherd, Dena Warneke, John and Gail Gray and Joy and Jonny Brown who were responsible for this year’s party plans. This is always a well attended and much anticipated event.
Beginning in January, the Lodge will meet at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Universal City. The first meeting of the year will be Thursday, January 9th at 7:00 p.m. and will feature tamales and chili. Please make your New Year’s Resolution to attend our meetings and get involved in the events of Cibolo Lodge 147
