April 2014 Article

Cibolo Lodge April meeting was on Thursday, April 3rd. Members enjoyed dinner and dessert, prior to the meeting. The meeting was well attended. Seems like everyone is enjoying getting out in the warmer weather!

Member unanimously welcomed new member Riley Myers and James A. Winkler by transfer. Neither were present, but we look forward to meeting them and having them be a part of lodge activities.

Agent Tina Ynfante reported the assignment of new Special Rep Eula Mae Krueger. She let members know that Hermann Sons would be involved in some print advertising and asked everyone to check their favorite magazines for these ads. Cibolo Dance Classes will hold their recital on May 18 at Texas Lutheran University. Mark your calendars to attend this most entertaining event.

Members will bring items in May for the Veterans at Fort Sam, to be delivered by Brother Sigfrid Swenson. He encouraged members to bring books, blankets, water and snacks to benefit the Veterans. Cibolo Lodge always celebrates Memorial Day and our Veterans during the May regular meeting. We are proud to be able to recognize those who gave so much to us.

The Flag Day Ceremony will be held Saturday, June 14th. Cory Rakowitz will contact the City of Cibolo for confirmation of ceremony times. This is a moving ceremony, dedicated to the memory of Brother Patrick Osborn, each year. This event is open to the public and you are invited and encouraged to attend.

Attendance prizes were a family affair. Cory Rakowitz, Dawn Bierstedt and Brenley Bierstedt were our big winners. The Special Drawing Winner was Stephanie L Garza, who was not present to claim her prize. The pot will be $40 at the next meeting. Be sure to be present for your chance to will this prize.

The next regular meeting will be Thursday, May 1st. In addition to recognizing our Veteran’s, we will have our annual Mother’s Day Door Prize Drawing. Once again, you must be present to collect this prize. We hope you will join us for dinner and a brief, but informative business meeting.
