The April regular meeting of Cibolo Lodge 147 was held on Thursday, April 9, 2014. This was a week later than our usual meeting dates, but this was done to accommodate Easter services. Members enjoyed dinner, prior to the business meeting. Gail Gray’s cucumbers and Nell Shepherd’s chocolate bars were voted favorite side dishes. Each were awarded prizes of $1. Be sure to attend our next meeting and bring your favorite side dish for an opportunity to win this coveted prize!

Agent Tina Ynfante reported that Summer Camp is right around the corner and reminded members to get their children’s application in early so that they have a better chance of getting the week they want. Cibolo Dance Classes recital will be Sunday, May 18 at Texas Lutheran University. Please plan to attend and support the children’s hard work.

Cheer committee, Dorothy Schneider that though not members of our lodge a condolence card will be sent to the family of Monroe Weyel and a get well card will be sent to Wilbert Young. Because of all the years of outstanding service to not only Cibolo Lodge, but neighboring lodges, Sister Schneider will be our “Fraternalist of the Year” nominee.

This year’s social will be held on July 18 from 2-6 p.m. at Bracken Bowling Alley. This annual event is open to all lodge member, guest and anyone interested in inquiring about Hermann Sons, on an informal level. Dorothy Schneider will be working with the Grand Lodge to get post cards sent to all lodge members with and invitation to attend this fun event.

Looking ahead, our May meeting will honor our Mothers and Veterans and our June meeting will honor our Fathers. There will be special prize drawings at each of these meetings, so make plans to attend these meetings, on the first Thursday of each month, for your chance to will these drawings/

Members are proud to welcome new junior members Kenzie Brooke Hudson, Austin R Hudson, Maezey Rose Bierstedt, Jackson Thomas Reagan and Blake William Reagan. Congratulations to the Bierstedt Family who is our newest 100% family.

Attendance prize winners were John Gray, Tina Ynfante and Caleb DeLuca. We hope you’ll plan to join us at our next regular meeting on Thursday, May 7. Dinner is at 7, followed by the business meeting at 7:30. We’re meeting at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1129 Pat Booker Rd in Universal City. A very big thank you to Tina Ynfante to handled the secretary duties during my absence at the meeting.
