Cibolo Lodge 147 held its May regular meeting on Thursday, May 7th at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Members enjoyed a dinner of Lasagna prior to the business meeting.
Members unanimously welcomed new junior members Connor Hayden Gobin, Isabella Togo and Leanna Marie Brunet. Also welcomed was our transfer member, Diane Strickland, mother of our agent, Tina Ynfante.
Agent Tina Ynfante reported that the recital will be held May 17 at Texas Lutheran University at 5 p.m. Sister Ynfante also reported that camp will be starting soon, so be sure to get your applications in to assure the week of your choice.
Cheer committee Dorothy Schneider reported that Wilborn Young is recovering nicely. She also reported the passing of Sister Mary Ann Dylla and Sister Eula Burton. Sister Schneider will be in all of our thoughts as she undergoes medical testing and treatment.
The Join Hands Day project, assisting Homes for Pets with their annual 5K walk/run, will take place on Saturday, May 16th. Members enjoy assisting the participants and their pets in this very fun and worthwhile event. This event is the major fundraiser for Homes for Pets, the fundraising entity for the Schertz Animal Shelter.
The annual Flag Day ceremony will be held in June at Cibolo City hall. The final details will be shared at the June regular meeting. This event is always a lodge favorite, honoring our flag, our veterans and civil servants. This event is open to the public. All are welcome
The lodge social will be held on July 17, from 2-6 p.m. at Bracken Bowling club. All members, guests and those interested in our lodge or learning more about Hermann Sons Insurance should plan to attend this afternoon of fun.
Fay Fey’s cucumber salad and Nell Shepherd’s pumpkin strudel were voted best side dishes. Adult attendance prizewinners were John and Gail Gray and Giovanni DeLuca, Jr. The Special Drawing prizewinner was Tara Lynn Dickson, who was not present to claim her prize. The pot will be $46 at the next meeting. You must be present to claim this prize.
