Cibolo Lodge # 147 met for its regular meeting on Thursday April 7, 2016 at Christ the King Lutheran Church. We welcomed in three new junior members. They are Emily Nicole Harper, Gabriel Andrew Harper and Grant Allen Miller.
Dinner consisted of homemade sausage provided by Freddy Goerke. Thank you Freddy! It was delicious as always! The tater tot casserole made by Cliff Shepherd was selected as the best side dish and the Coconut Cream Pie made by Fay Fey was selected as the best dessert.
We have sad news to share, we lost two members Elaine Bertha Dornbrusch and Morris Johnson Jr.
Our sincere condolences and prayers go out the families of both members.
On a much lighter note two of our just former junior members who transitioned into adult members this year will be attending college for the first time! Congratulations to Zane Gray and Emilie Shepherd. We wish them both good luck in this exciting time as they begin their new journeys in the next chapter of their lives!
This month we will feature Zane and his accomplishments: Zane is a Senior on the Samuel Clemens High School Varsity Boys Bowling Team. His bowling team finished 1st in District, 1st in Regionals and made into the second round at State. Zane also individually made the All-District Team that will compete in College Station on April 17th. Congratulations Zane on a job well done!
Next meeting the meal will be Lasagna and the men are responsible for all the desserts so this should be interesting! Come out and join us! We meet the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Universal City. The address is 1129 Pat Booker Rd, so come and join us and lets see what kind of home made desserts the men can come up with!
Attendance award recipients were Nell Shepherd and Alvin Schulz, and the junior member winner was Sarah Shepherd. The Special Drawing was Hunter DeLeon who was not present, so sorry Hunter. The amount grows to $28 for the next meeting so if you are not present then you can’t win.
