Cibolo Lodge No. 147 held its Halloween spooktakular meeting on Thursday October 6, 2016 at 7 pm at Christ the King Lutheran Church.

We had some super awesome costumes this year and many participants making the selection of the winners pretty hard but we were able to persevere and choose the best costume winners. The junior member winners are Javion Campos as a Grandpa, and Maezey Bierstedt as Sheriff Callie and adult winner was Joy Brown as a Devil Egg.

We are happy to announce that our rummage sale was a success and enabled us to raise $620.00 for our matching funds recipient the Cibolo Volunteer Fire Department. They will be presented with a check at our Christmas Party on December 11 and all are invited to attend.20161006_205256

Brett Gray recounted his experiences a summer camp and even though this was his last time as a camper, he is looking forward to becoming a CIT when he is old enough in two years.

This year our Christmas Party will showcase our dancers starting at 3:30, when they will perform for us. Our menu will be bacon wrapped chicken, green beans, potatoes and salad for those that request one. Everyone is asked to bring a dessert to share. The cost of meals is $8 for members and $11 for guests and tickets are on sale now. For tickets contact Vice President Sherry Rakowitz, Treasurer Joy Brown or Recording Secretary Tracy Campos.

On Friday October 21, we will be taking items we collect for make a difference day to Silvertree Nursing Home at 4:45 for anyone interested in attending, this year we collected blankets and scarves.

Sherry Rakowitz and Tracy Campos attended the Leadership Summit held at the Grand Lodge and reported that it was very informative and that some really cool changes are coming our way.

We have some new junior member that we welcomed in, they are as follows: Emily Margaret Dewinne, Layla Noelle White, Lilly Shea Schultz, Emmalee Ann Peterson, Ava Lyn Hickman, Roslyn Isabelle Cantu, Laini Marie Erebia, Jaylene Meliani Davison, Kinsley H Peterson, Anna Sophia Miller, Lillian Ybarra, Jade Ybarra, Kayden Taylor Zargoza-Kelly, Austin Matttherw Maldonado, Madyson Alexis Atkinson, Wyatt Joseph Williams, Jordyn Alexandria Williams, Kyler Kristopher Williams, Myra Vasbinder, Arianna Espinoza, Jane Allore Rauch, Gabriella Fe Morales, Gabryel Lyanne Rauch, Kaidyn Elizabeth Williams. We welcome all of you and hope to see you and your families at our meetings.

In other lodge news we are proposing changes to our By-Laws and looking to up our membership dues from $0.35 per month to $1.00 per month for adults or $12.00 per year and from $0.35 per month to $0.50 per month for junior members or $6.00 per year. We had our first reading on this at our October meeting and will have the second reading at the November meeting. Input is needed from all of our members so if you would like to comment pros or cons for this change everyone can do so at our next meeting that is scheduled for Thursday, November 3rd at 7 pm at Chris The King Lutheran Church located across Pat Booker road from Whataburger.
