March 2017 Article

Here is a hearty Luck O’ the Irish to everyone reading this article! I hope each and every one of you and your families has a great (and green) Saint Patrick’s Day! Cibolo Lodge held its regular meeting on Thursday, March 2nd with guest speaker Joy Brown, who is an Enrolled Agent and an Independent Tax Preparer who has been preparing taxes for 30 years. Joy definitely enlightened us on tax preparation and answered all of our questions, of which, there were many. We enjoyed building our own sandwiches and Mary Ann Gray’s potato salad was not only wonderful but won as the side dish. Javion Campos’ fruit kabobs were delicious and won as our best dessert!

Happy Birthday to Bret Gray! Not only is it Bret’s birthday but his name was drawn as the junior award winner, congratulations Bret! Adult attendance awards went to Dena Warneke and John Fey. Our special drawing winner was Lauren M Valadez who was not present, so our amount grows to $43 for next meeting.

We welcomed two new member to our lodge, they are John E Ward Jr and Khloe Ann Ward.

Next month on April 6, 2017 our guest speaker will be Hans Boas, professor for Germanic Linguistics in the Department of Germanic Studies and the Department of Linguistics at the University of at Austin.
