This years rummage sale was the best yet with us raising $1,400 for our matching funds recipient the Clemens 4H. They will be presented with their check at our Christmas Party on December 9th at Bexar Social Hall and all are invited to attend. This years party will begin at 2:30 when the dancers will preform followed by punch and cookies. Santa, I hear, will be arriving shortly thereafter and the annual party will begin at 4 pm. This year is a BYOB with setups available at the bar and also frozen margaritas. Tickets are on sale now with prices unchanged from last year. The menu is bacon wrapped chicken, green beans, potatoes and salad. Everyone is asked to bring a dessert to share. The cost of meals is $8 for members, $11 for guests and tickets are on sale now. For tickets contact Vice President Sherry Rakowitz, Treasurer Joy Brown, or Recording Secretary Tracy Campos.

On Friday, October 27 our Make a Difference Day will be held at Autumn Winds Living and Rehabilitation Center from 10-10:30 for personal care items like chap stick, socks, adult coloring books, etc. will be given to the residents.

We had present 17 adults, 5 juniors and 2 guests. However, one of the guests was voted in as our newest member Katherine Rose Campos and junior members also voted in were Jacob Ricardo Castorena, Zoe Renee Castorena, Liam Christopher Eby, Emiliana Astoria Eby, Karlee Gabrielle Eby, Emma Michelle Banks. Welcome all of you and hope to see you and your families at our meetings.

We are going on a bus trip to the Painted Church Tour in Schulenburg on Saturday, October 28th and we are all exited and looking forward to our trip and I will give everyone a report at the next article.

Professor Hans Boas had to cancel his visit, but has graciously rescheduled for February 4, 2018. He is possibly bringing some of his grad students along as well. We will keep you posted, I apologize for not letting everyone know in the last article, but Professor Boas was in Switzerland and was not able to respond until the 1st week in October to let me know he couldn’t be here.

We will be having ham at our next meeting so plan on bringing sides and desserts to go with that. I for one am looking forward to some great food as we usually have!

We have the best cooks and bakers around in my opinion!

October birthday celebrants were John Fey, Javion Campos, Casey Shepherd and Tiffany Kuhlman. Jonathan and Dawn Bierstedt celebrated their 8th year anniversary. Congratulations to everyone!!!!
